Bookbug is Scottish Book Trust's Early Years programme that aims to help children develop a love of books and reading by providing four free bags of books to every child in Scotland during their first five years. Families can attend free story, song and rhyme sessions - Bookbug Sessions - in libraries and other community venues. Free Bookbug training is available for practitioners who work with families.
CALL Scotland has worked with the Scottish Book Trust to create a fantastic pack of award winning symbolised resources to accompany these books. They can be used with pupils with Additional Support Needs and those with communication difficulties. The resources include Go Talk 9+ overlays to go with each story and vocabulary sheets to go with each board to help with recording the messages.
